Placements24 is seeking a Production Chemist for its client in Welkom, a city known for deep-level mining and growing resource sectors. The role focuses on optimizing chemical processes in Oil & Gas facilities, ensuring efficient separation, treatment, and quality control of produced fluids.
You will troubleshoot chemical issues, implement new solutions, and ensure environmental compliance while supporting field operators and production chemists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Production Chemist or similar in Oil & Gas.
- Strong understanding of oilfield chemistry, including inhibitors and demulsifiers.
- Experience with lab analysis and data interpretation.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze produced oil, gas, and water samples to monitor quality.
- Develop and implement chemical treatment programs for scale and corrosion.
- Optimize chemical injection strategies and monitor effectiveness.
- Provide technical support to production chemists and field operators.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations on chemical use and disposal.
- Research new chemical technologies for the Welkom area.
