Placements24 seeks an experienced Mine Planning Engineer for Vereeniging, Gauteng to develop integrated mine plans for open-pit and underground operations, balancing technical accuracy with strategic objectives.

The role demands 5-7 years in mine planning, proficiency with Deswik/Vulcan/Surpac, and strong collaboration with geology, operations, safety, and finance to drive safe, economical mine progress.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or closely related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in mine planning and design, preferably in complex mining environments.
• Proficiency with industry-standard mine planning and design software packages is essential.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, geology, geotechnics, and economics.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain integrated mine plans, including short, medium, and long-term schedules.
• Collaborate with geological and operational teams to define optimal extraction sequences and methodologies.
• Utilize Deswik, Vulcan, and Surpac for 3D mine design, scheduling, and cut studies.
• Perform economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses to support mine planning decisions.
• Ensure mine plans comply with safety regulations, environmental standards and resource management practices.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions within the plan.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for submissions and reviews.
• Participate in feasibility studies and project development phases.
• Conduct site visits to Vereeniging operations to gather information and assess progress.
• Liaise with operations, engineering, safety, and finance to ensure alignment of plans.
• Mentor junior mine planning engineers and contribute to technical development.
