Placements24 seeks an experienced Mine Planning Engineer to lead the development and optimization of short-term and long-term underground mine plans in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design layouts, forecast production, and integrate geotechnical input to ensure safe, economical extraction.

Based in Paarl with hybrid work, the role requires strong technical skills in Deswik/Vulcan/Surpac, deep knowledge of underground methods, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while coordinating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 6 years of underground mine planning experience.
• Proficiency in mine planning software packages.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods, ventilation, and ground support.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-term (daily/weekly/monthly) and long-term (annual/LOM) mine plans.
• Design layouts, access routes, and ventilation circuits using planning software.
• Produce production forecasts and resource utilization analyses.
• Mentor junior planning engineers and coordinate with geology/GEOTECH teams.
