Placements24 seeks a Senior Mine Planner for open-pit operations in Welkom, Free State. You will develop short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans, leveraging Deswik, Vulcan and MinePlan to optimize designs and schedules while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Collaborate with geology and survey teams, run feasibility studies, and mentor junior engineers as part of a dynamic, high-impact mining team in a hybrid work setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in mine planning, open-pit focus.
• Proficiency with mine planning software (Deswik, Vulcan, MinePlan).
• Solid understanding of open-pit mining methods and constraints.
• Experience with resource modeling and reserves estimation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Hybrid work model balancing on-site Welkom collaboration with remote analysis.
• ECSA registration preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term mine plans for open-pit operations.
• Use Deswik, Vulcan and MinePlan to design and schedule production.
• Perform pit shell optimization, scheduling, and equipment utilization analysis.
• Collaborate with geology and surveying to integrate resource data.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new developments.
• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve planning processes.
