Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mine planning and design, open-pit or underground.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight, Surpac for planning and scheduling.
• Solid understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and sequencing.
• Experience interpreting geological data and resource modeling integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Knowledge of SA mining legislation and best practices.
• Familiarity with hybrid work environments and productivity across settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine production plans.
• Design and optimize open-pit or underground layouts, haul roads and infrastructure.
• Use Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight, Surpac to generate designs, schedules and visuals.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for developments.
• Collaborate with geologists to integrate resource models into plans.
• Work with operations to ensure plans are practical, safe, and achievable.
• Monitor performance against plan and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and capital expenditure justifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
