Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Metallurgical Engineer for a Centurion role focused on optimizing mineral processing and metal extraction. You'll contribute to process development, troubleshooting, and ensuring efficient recovery of valuable minerals from ore, with a mix of on-site analysis and remote data interpretation.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in chemical and physical processes involved in mining, along with an analytical mindset to drive plant performance and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in mineral processing and metallurgy.
• Proficiency in metallurgical simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of flotation, leaching and related extraction techniques.
• Experience with process control and optimization in a plant environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize metallurgical processes for mineral concentration and metal extraction.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate process performance and new technologies.
• Analyze plant data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to the processing plant team.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards in all metallurgical operations.
• Collaborate with research and development teams on innovative processing solutions.
