Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to support our manufacturing operations. You will focus on ensuring reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance of machinery, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements for new equipment installations.

This role offers a hybrid work model with on-site presence at our Paarl facility and remote administrative tasks, fostering a flexible and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mechanical aspects of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures, breakdowns, and performance issues in production machinery.
• Implement modifications and upgrades to existing equipment to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for critical mechanical systems.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
