Placements24 is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer for our Randburg team. The role combines design, development, testing, and manufacturing oversight for mechanical components and systems within a hybrid work setup.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, hands-on CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and the ability to solve complex engineering challenges. Hybrid work balances on-site collaboration with remote task management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, analysis, and testing.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (on-site Randburg and remote).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components, equipment, and systems using CAD software.
• Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and production staff.
