Job summary

Placements24 seeks a proactive Design and Development Mechanical Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role. You will conceptualize, design, and bring new mechanical products to life, from ideation to prototyping, while collaborating with R&D and manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Four or more years of mechanical design experience, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Inven tor), and a solid understanding of materials and manufacturability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor and basic simulation tools.
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical products and systems.
• Create detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Perform stress, thermal, and kinematic simulations to validate designs.
• Oversee prototyping and testing activities, iterating designs as needed.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to optimize for production and cost.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and materials relevant to product design.
