Placements24 seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role delivering complete design lifecycle work, from concept to prototyping and testing. You will create 3D models and drawings, run simulations, and document specifications while collaborating with a virtual team to drive innovative product development.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical design, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/CATIA) and practical DFM knowledge, with excellent remote communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or CATIA) and simulations.
• Strong understanding of DFM for manufacturability.
• Able to work autonomously and communicate remotely.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for components and assemblies.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations (FEA, thermal analysis) to validate designs.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes for product designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams via virtual channels.
• Create and maintain BOMs and design specifications.
• Support prototype builds and troubleshoot design issues.
