Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client in Midrand. You will drive the full design lifecycle from concept through prototyping to production support, shaping cutting-edge mechanical systems for the product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and GD&T.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Proven ability to work in a team and communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new mechanical systems and components, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs using CAD software.
• Conduct stress, thermal analyses, and simulations to validate designs under various operating conditions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and project management teams for seamless product integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote design best practices.
