Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Operations Improvement Engineer for a hybrid role in Klerksdorp, North West. You will drive efficiency, productivity, and cost improvements across departments, balancing remote work with essential on-site engagement.

The ideal candidate has a solid industrial engineering background, proficient in Lean tools, data analytics, and process optimization. You will collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams while contributing to KPI tracking and training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations management.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production and operational processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for enhancement.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Design efficient workflows, layouts, and material handling systems.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize resource utilization and improve productivity.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement process changes and ensure seamless integration.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and performance dashboards.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance operational capabilities.
• Track KPIs and report on the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on new processes and continuous improvement tools.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and waste elimination throughout the operations.
