Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
• 5 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in mining.
• Knowledge of South African mining health and safety legislation (MHSA) and standards.
• Experience in risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety management systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver health and safety training programs to all levels of staff.
• Ensure compliance with MHSA and other SA mining health and safety legislation.
• Prepare and submit health and safety reports to management and regulatory bodies.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and communication.
• Manage procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE.
