Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an energetic Event Planning Assistant to support catering and event management teams in Nelspruit. This hybrid role covers planning, coordination and on-site execution to ensure seamless events.

You will work closely with senior planners and chefs, gaining hands-on experience across logistics, menu planning, RSVPs and vendor communications in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Some experience in event planning, hospitality, or customer service.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with event management software is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating event logistics, including venue liaison, vendor management, and client communication.
• Support the catering team with menu planning, order tracking, and inventory management.
• Prepare event documentation, such as timelines, floor plans, and guest lists.
• Provide on-site support during events, assisting with setup, guest services, and troubleshooting.
