Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Educational Psychologist for a part-time, hybrid role in George. You will assess, counsel, and plan interventions to support student emotional, social, and academic development while collaborating with educators and parents.

The position requires a Master’s in Educational Psychology, HPCSA registration, and at least three years of post-qualification experience working with children in educational settings. Remote work components are included.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Registered as a Psychologist with HPCSA (South Africa).
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience with children/adolescents in education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psycho-educational assessments to identify learning difficulties, developmental delays and emotional challenges.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies and support plans for students.
• Provide counselling and therapeutic support to students in distress.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals for holistic student well-being and success.
• Deliver workshops for staff and parents on child development and learning support.
• Maintain confidential records of assessments and progress reports.
• Stay updated with current research, best practices, and legal requirements in educational psychology.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute professional insights.
