Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a dynamic online retailer in Pretoria, seeks an meticulous E-commerce Data Analyst to transform raw data into insights across marketing, sales and operations. You will track, analyze, and report key e-commerce metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations to optimize performance and customer experience.

You will build dashboards, collaborate with marketing, product and IT, perform A/B testing analyses, and present findings clearly with visualizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in e-commerce or digital marketing.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or R.
• Strong experience with web analytics platforms like GA/Adobe Analytics.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Power BI/Looker Studio.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to website traffic, user behavior, sales performance, and marketing campaign effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs for the e-commerce business.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to uncover opportunities for growth and improvements.
• Conduct in‑depth analysis of customer journeys, conversion funnels, and segmentation.
• Provide data‑driven recommendations to optimize website design and marketing strategies.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and IT teams to define data requirements and ensure accurate data tracking.
• Perform A/B testing analysis to evaluate website changes and marketing initiatives.
• Present findings to stakeholders with clear visuals.
