WhatJobs Direct is seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Attorney to join our client's dynamic legal team in Upington, Northern Cape. This role focuses on managing and resolving a diverse range of disputes, including litigation, arbitration and mediation, with an emphasis on strategic advocacy.

You will develop and execute litigation strategies, represent the company in court and ADR forums, supervise external counsel, and ensure ethical, cost-effective dispute resolution in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• LLB from a recognized university and admission as an attorney.
• 4–6 years post-qualification experience in dispute resolution or litigation.
• Strong knowledge of South African civil procedure and substantive law.
• Excellent research, writing and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of litigation from inception to trial.
• Represent the company in court, arbitrations and mediations.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective strategies.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions and settlements.
• Interview clients and witnesses and manage expert witnesses.
• Negotiate settlements and advise on legal risks.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and oversee external counsel.
• Stay updated with developments in dispute resolution.
• Ensure cost-effective resolution of disputes.
