Placements24 is recruiting an experienced Dispute Resolution Specialist for a reputable Kimberley law firm to join their litigation team. You will manage a diverse civil and commercial caseload, from contracts to debt recovery, representing clients in Magistrate's Court to High Court.

The role requires an LLB, admission as an Attorney, at least four years post-qualification in litigation, strong drafting and advocacy skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a busy

Qualifications

• LLB degree and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of SA.
• Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in litigation.
• Experience handling civil and commercial disputes.
• Strong knowledge of SA court procedures and rules of evidence.
• Excellent drafting, advocacy and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of litigation from inception through trial and enforcement.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, and other court documents.
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlements.

About the Role

Our client, a reputable law firm in Kimberley, Northern Cape , is seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Specialist to join their litigation team. This role will involve managing a diverse caseload of civil and commercial disputes, including contract disputes, debt recovery, and general litigation. The Specialist will be responsible for representing clients in various forums, from Magistrate's Court to High Court, and engaging in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. The firm is committed to providing high-quality legal services and fostering a collegial work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of litigation, from inception through to trial and enforcement.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, affidavits, and other court documents.
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Advise clients on their rights and obligations in dispute resolution matters.
• Manage case files, ensuring adherence to court rules and deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation.
• Conduct client interviews and gather evidence for case preparation.
• Develop strategic litigation plans and provide timely updates to clients.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant South African laws and procedures.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
• Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in litigation and dispute resolution.
• Proven experience in handling civil and commercial litigation matters.
• Strong understanding of South African court procedures and rules of evidence.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong drafting and advocacy abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage a demanding workload, and meet deadlines.
