The ideal candidate is an Admitted Attorney with 3–5 years PQE in dispute resolution or litigation, with strong drafting and research skills, proactivity, and excellent negotiation abilities.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with 3–5 years post-qualification experience in dispute resolution or litigation.
• Solid understanding of South African civil procedure and evidence law.
• Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent advocacy and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil and commercial litigation from initiation to conclusion.
• Draft legal documents: summonses, notices of motion, pleadings, affidavits.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare case summaries and opinions.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, mediations, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and draft settlement agreements.
• Liaise with clients to provide updates and legal advice.
• Collaborate with senior lawyers and other members of the legal team.
• Ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.
• Assist in preparation for trials, hearings, and ADR processes.
• Maintain detailed case files and manage deadlines.
