Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Engineer in George to strengthen defenses across on-premises and cloud environments. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote flexibility with in-office collaboration to design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructures.

You will develop strategies to prevent breaches, respond to threats, and work with a dedicated security team to protect critical data and systems in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Experience with network, endpoint, and cloud security.
• Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Familiarity with NIST or ISO 27001 frameworks.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, antivirus).
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.
• Collaborate with IT for secure configurations and deployments.
• Monitor network traffic and logs for threats.
• Provide guidance and support on security best practices.
