Placements24 in Durban is seeking a dynamic Banqueting and Events Manager to orchestrate seamless events at our premier venue. You will be the primary client contact from initial inquiry through to successful execution, ensuring exceptional service and memorable experiences.

This on-site role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events, coordinate with catering, AV, and venue staff, and drive profitability while upholding the venue's

Qualifications

• 4+ years in banqueting or hospitality event coordination.
• Proven ability to plan and execute diverse events.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience with catering, AV, and venue setup.

Responsibilities

• Manage all banqueting and event planning from initial client consultation to post-event evaluation.
• Develop detailed event proposals, contracts, and timelines.
• Coordinate with clients to understand their event needs, preferences, and budget.
• Liaise with internal departments including catering, AV, security, and venue setup to ensure all event requirements are met.
• Oversee the execution of events on the day, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to timelines.
• Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure profitability for all assigned events.
• Conduct site inspections and client walkthroughs to showcase venue capabilities and finalize event details.
• Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly during events.
• Maintain accurate event files, client records, and performance data.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors to ensure successful partnerships.
