Placements24 seeks an experienced Aviation Operations Manager to oversee the Tembisa hub, blending on-site leadership with remote coordination. You will drive flight scheduling, ground handling, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, efficient day-to-day operations.

The role requires 7+ years in aviation operations management, strong leadership, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in aviation operations management with a proven track record.
• In-depth knowledge of flight operations, air traffic control, ground handling and aviation safety regulations (SACAA experience preferred).
• Strong leadership with experience managing diverse teams and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize daily flight operations including scheduling, dispatch, and crew management.
• Supervise ground handling activities ensuring safety, punctuality and quality service.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards and company policies.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance service quality and reduce costs.
• Mentor and develop operations staff fostering accountability, safety and continuous learning.
• Act as primary contact for internal departments, external partners and regulators regarding operations.
• Monitor performance through key metrics and take corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee efficient use of resources including aircraft, equipment and personnel.
• Respond to disruptions and emergencies to minimize impact on safety and schedule.
