Job summary

Placements24 seeks a detail-oriented Flight Operations Officer to support flight planning and operational control from a base near Richards Bay. This hybrid role ensures on-site coordination while linking ground operations with airborne activities.

You will work with flight crews, maintenance, and dispatch teams to manage schedules, monitor weather, and handle contingencies in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant certification or degree in Aviation Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in flight operations, dispatch, or a similar aviation role.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, meteorology, and flight planning principles.
• Proficiency with flight planning software and operational control systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize flight routes, considering weather, fuel, and ATC restrictions.
• Prepare and brief flight crews on flight plans, NOTAMs, and weather forecasts.
• Monitor flight progress in real-time and adjust to changing conditions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
• Coordinate with maintenance, ground handling, and other departments for smooth turnaround.
• Maintain flight operations documentation and records accurately.
