Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aviation Operations Manager to lead all operational aspects of their aviation services based in Soweto. This senior role focuses on safe, efficient flight operations, ground handling, and related support services.

You will manage a diverse team, optimize resource allocation, develop operational strategies, and ensure adherence to SACAA regulations and industry standards, driving continuous improvement in a complex aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in aviation operations management.
• Proven track record managing complex aviation operations and leading teams.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (SACAA) and safety management systems.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage day-to-day aviation operations (flight scheduling, dispatch, ground ops, and fleet management).
• Develop and implement policies to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, airworthiness standards, and company policies.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for financial optimization.
• Lead and develop a team of aviation professionals focused on safety and collaboration.
• Oversee procurement and maintenance of operational equipment and assets for compliance.
