Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk for a hybrid role in Klerksdorp, North West. The position involves processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate accounts payable records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in bookkeeping or accounting is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Process all vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Ensure all payments are authorized and processed according to company policy and payment terms.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and manage vendor relations regarding payment queries.
• Maintain the accounts payable ledger and ensure it is up-to-date.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures for the accounts payable function.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices and payments.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for invoices and payment records.
• Support the accounts payable team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
