Job summary

Johnson Controls in Cape Town seeks an HVAC Service Assistant to support maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical HVAC systems at client sites. You will assist senior technicians during service visits, help diagnose issues and contribute to reliable equipment performance.

You will work alongside senior technicians during inspections, servicing and preventive maintenance; document activities, follow safety guidelines, and pursue structured training to build field expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in mechanical HVAC systems and field service work.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow technical instructions, and work safely.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Cape Town.
• Good communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive work ethic.

What You Will Do

You will support our HVAC Service Team in delivering maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for mechanical HVAC systems across customer sites in Cape Town. You will assist senior technicians during service visits, help diagnose system issues, and contribute to the reliable performance of Johnson Controls’ HVAC equipment.

How You Will Do It

Work alongside senior HVAC technicians during inspections, service calls, and preventive maintenance

• Support troubleshooting of chillers, package units, split systems, pumps, and mechanical components
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment and related systems
• Document service activities, findings, and parts usage according to Johnson Controls standards
• Follow all safety procedures, compliance requirements, and quality guidelines
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during site visits
• Build your technical capability through structured training, mentoring, and hands‑on field experience

What We Look For

• Matric certificate
