Johnson Controls in Johannesburg is seeking an HVAC Service Assistant to support our field service team across Gauteng. You will assist senior technicians during inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of mechanical HVAC systems at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate required.
• Strong interest in mechanical HVAC systems and field service work.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow technical instructions, and work safely.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Gauteng.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; proactive work ethic.
• Exposure to HVAC/refrigeration or mechanical systems is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside senior HVAC technicians during inspections, service calls, and preventive maintenance.
• Support troubleshooting of chillers, package units, split systems, pumps, and mechanical components.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment and related systems.
• Document service activities, findings, and parts usage according to Johnson Controls standards.
• Follow safety procedures, compliance requirements, and quality guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during site visits.
• Build technical capability through structured training, mentoring, and hands-on field experience.
