Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Cape Town seeks an enthusiastic HVAC service support technician to assist senior staff with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical HVAC systems at customer sites.

You will learn through structured training, document activities per standards, and communicate professionally with customers on site. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within Cape Town are expected.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate is required.
• Strong interest in mechanical HVAC systems and field service work.
• Willingness to travel within Cape Town with a valid driver’s license.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Exposure to HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical systems is a plus but not required.

What You Will Do

You will support our HVAC Service Team in delivering maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for mechanical HVAC systems across customer sites in Cape Town. You will assist senior technicians during service visits, help diagnose system issues, and contribute to the reliable performance of Johnson Controls' HVAC equipment.

How You Will Do It

• Work alongside senior HVAC technicians during inspections, service calls, and preventive maintenance
• Support troubleshooting of chillers, package units, split systems, pumps, and mechanical components
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment and related systems
• Document service activities, findings, and parts usage according to Johnson Controls standards
• Follow all safety procedures, compliance requirements, and quality guidelines
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during site visits
• Build your technical capability through structured training, mentoring, and hands-on field experience
