Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to support our field operations in Cape Town. You will assist senior technicians on site, help diagnose issues, and contribute to the reliable performance of Johnson Controls’ HVAC equipment.

You will work closely with the service team, participate in inspections and preventive maintenance, and build your technical capability through structured training and hands‑on field experience.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate.
• Strong interest in mechanical HVAC systems and field service work.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow technical instructions, and work safely.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Cape Town.
• Good communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive work ethic.
• Any prior exposure to HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems is an advantage but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support HVAC service team during inspections, service calls, and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with troubleshooting of chillers, package units, split systems, pumps, and mechanical components.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment and related systems.
• Document service activities, findings, and parts usage according to Johnson Controls standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, compliance requirements, and quality guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during site visits.
• Build technical capability through structured training, mentoring, and hands‑on field experience.
