Job summary

Johnson Controls in Johannesburg seeks an Inside Sales Team Engineer (HVAC) to support Africa customers by identifying requirements, handling field operations interactions, and offering standard and specific solutions. The role collaborates with Outside Sales, Field Operations, and Customer service to ensure proposals address customer needs and meet JCI standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
2-3 years minimum experience in Sales/estimation in HVAC Chiller & I-REF Industry.
Strong technical knowledge in chilled water systems.
Experience reviewing service PPM reports.
Experience preparing costing in MS Excel/CPQ.
Prepare quick quotes in MS Word & CPQ tool (5-10 proposals per day).
Coordinate with operations/front-line sales teams.
Identify backlog of unsold opportunities & outbound follow-up.

Responsibilities

Identify customer requirements from Field Operations and respond to inquiries via phone/email.
Collaborate with Outside Sales, Field Operations, Customer representatives and technical services to prepare proposals.
Provide basic technical advice on new product introductions and modifications.
Review pricing and opportunities to maximize customer satisfaction and account retention.
Capture and update actions from opportunity creation to deal closure in SFDC.
