Job summary

Freudenberg Nonwovens (Pty.) Ltd. in Cape Town seeks an HR Generalist to manage the full employee lifecycle, from hiring to termination, and to serve as the HR point of contact for staff and managers.

You will prepare contracts, policies, and HR reports while ensuring data integrity in internal systems. The role requires solid HR experience, a strong understanding of local labor law, and familiarity with payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of local labor law and bargaining council rules.
• Experience administering HR processes: recruiting, onboarding, termination, etc.

Responsibilities

• Execute HR administrative tasks across the employee lifecycle (hiring, transfers, promotions, terminations).
• Serve as the go-to for standard HR issues and communicate policies to staff and managers.
• Prepare HR documents and reports, review templates, and maintain data quality in HR systems.
• Support payroll input and data accuracy for payroll processing.
• Manage time, attendance and leave, ensure timely approvals and streamlined processes.

HR Generalist (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

• Executes all administrative tasks related to HR activities within the life cycle of the employee (hiring, transfer, promotion, termination).
• Acts as point of contact for standard HR-related issues and communication to employees and managers on a day-to-day basis (HR policies, procedures, employee benefits, employment-related matters, employer branding).
• Autonomous preparation of HR-related documents and reporting (employment contracts, personnel announcements etc.) as well as reviewing HR-related standard templates.
• Providing HR input for payroll and maintaining employee data and ensuring high level of data quality in internal HR databases (e.g., workday, local payroll system etc.) including generating reports and analyze data to support decision-making.
• Manage time, attendance and leave to ensure all required timesheets and leave applications including supporting documents are authorized and submitted timely whilst streamlining the process to maximize effectiveness for all users.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Bachelor or similar education. (e.g., business administration, HR, commercial)
• At least 3 years of professional experience and education.
• Advanced knowledge of local labor law, bargaining council etc.
• Experience regarding the administration of HR-processes. (e.g., recruiting, onboarding, termination etc.)
• Basic understanding of payroll.
• Knowledge of relevant HR-IT-Tools (e.g., Workday, local payroll systems)
