Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an HR Officer to join its Soweto team, supporting HR operations and the effective implementation of policies and procedures. The role focuses on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and maintaining accurate records in the HRIS.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of generalist HR experience, a SA labour law understanding, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. This on-site position offers room to grow within a supportive organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
• 2–4 years of generalist HR experience.
• Good knowledge of South African labour law and HR best practices.
• Proficiency with HRIS and MS Office.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to confidentiality and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and selection: screening CVs, interviews, references.
• Manage onboarding for new hires.
• Administer HR policies and procedures.
• Support employee relations initiatives under supervision.
• Maintain employee records in the HRIS.
• Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Coordinate training and development activities.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and regulations.
• Prepare HR reports and presentations.
• Contribute to HR initiatives to improve engagement and retention.
