Job summary

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Cape Town seeks a dedicated Stewarding Associate to assist the Stewarding Supervisor in maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchens, restaurants and related areas. You will perform sanitation tasks, keep equipment clean, restock supplies, and ensure compliance with Resort policies.

Ideal candidates will have hotel experience, be able to work both AM and PM shifts, stay organized under pressure, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 required.
• Previous experience within hotel industry.
• Must be able to prioritize, organize and be self-efficient.
• Must be able to work am and pm shifts.
• Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks under pressure.
• Must be guest-oriented and have a vibrant personality.
• Proficient in English (verbal & written).
• Flexible in terms of working hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform sanitation and cleanliness duties to maintain kitchens, restaurants and work areas.
• Keep equipment and utensils clean and in order.
• Perform general cleaning duties of kitchen facilities.
• Adhere to departmental and Resort policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the garbage area.
• Monitor chemicals and water temperature during shifts.
• Clean and organize work areas and kitchen equipment to maximize efficiency.
• Restock supplies in assigned areas.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in assigned stations and keep floors free of dirt/germs.
• Store cleaned items properly and follow procedures.
