Vineyard Hotel in Newlands, Cape Town, is seeking a Chief Steward to lead daily stewarding operations within the back-of-house environment. You will oversee cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across kitchens, stores, and service areas while supporting F&B operations with efficient workflow and stock control.

Formación

• Matric is required.
• Hospitality or Facilities Services certificate or similar vocational training.
• 2–3 years in stewarding, housekeeping, or back-of-house cleaning in hotels/hospitality.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or team-leading role preferred; HACCP/food safety & health & safety training advantageous.
• Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise daily stewarding operations and ensure HACCP, health and safety standards are met.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in kitchens, wash-up areas, stores, and BOH facilities.
• Ensure timely support to restaurant, kitchen, banqueting and events with clean crockery and equipment.
• Allocate tasks, train staff, provide coaching, and monitor attendance/performance.
• Monitor use and maintenance of stewarding equipment and supplies to minimize losses.
• Control cleaning chemicals, PPE and consumables with safe storage and accurate reporting.
