Job summary

Helderberg Personnel seeks a key guest-facing leader to oversee Reception operations during assigned shifts, guiding the team to maintain luxury 5-star standards across service, admin and financial procedures.

The role requires 3–5 years of Front Office experience in a luxury 4/5-star hotel with 1–2 years in a supervisory role, and a hospitality qualification. Protel PMS knowledge is highly advantageous. Relocation to Somerset West is considered.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash, manage floats, and ensure strict control over financial transactions and end-of-shift procedures

Job description

To serve as a key guest-facing leader, overseeing Reception operations during assigned shifts, guiding the team, and ensuring all service, administrative, and financial procedures consistently meet luxury 5-star standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Take responsibility for the smooth operation of Reception, acting as the senior point of contact in the Front Office Manager's absence
• Manage check-ins, check-outs, guest accounts, and golf-related transactions using the property management system
• Lead and supervise team members, resolve guest queries or complaints effectively, and upsell hotel facilities
• Balance cash, manage floats, and ensure strict control over financial transactions and end-of-shift procedures

Criteria

• 3-5 years of Front Office experience in a luxury 4/5-star hotel, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or senior leadership position
• A relevant hospitality, hotel management, or tourism qualification
• Proficiency in hotel property management systems (Protel is highly advantageous)
• Strong administrative, communication, and cash-up skills, with a flexible approach to working shifts, weekends, and public holidays
