Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Sports Facilities Manager in Rustenburg, North West, SA to drive the strategic and operational management of all sports venues. You will oversee facilities, safety, and service quality, while leading a team of maintenance staff and coordinators.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years in facility management with leadership in sports, strong budgeting skills, and proven ability to deliver capital improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• 8+ years in facility management with at least 4 years in a leadership role in sports.
• Experience managing large-scale venues and complex operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance, and maintenance.
• Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and contracting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of all sports facilities (fields, courts, arenas, support areas).
• Develop strategic plans for upgrades, renovations and capital improvements.
• Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility standards.
• Lead a team of facility staff including maintenance, events, and admin roles.
• Coordinate with leagues, event organizers and external stakeholders on scheduling.
• Implement preventive maintenance and emergency response plans.
• Source and manage third-party vendor contracts.
• Foster exceptional customer service and client satisfaction.
