Job summary

Placements24 represents a prominent client in the Leisure & Sports sector seeking a Senior Sports Facilities Manager for their flagship venue in Vereeniging, Gauteng. This role focuses on operation, maintenance, safety, and guest experience at a premier facility.

You will lead strategic planning, budget oversight, and a team of facility staff while coordinating with external partners and stakeholders to deliver exceptional sports experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in sports facility management or a similar operations role.
• Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
• In-depth knowledge of facility operations, maintenance and safety standards.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for efficient operation and maintenance of all facilities.
• Oversee daily operations, including staffing and resource allocation for facility usage.
• Manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
• Enforce health, safety and security protocols for staff and visitors.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for maintenance and upgrades.
• Plan and execute events, tournaments, and community programs with logistics support.
• Inspect facilities regularly and drive upgrades and renovations as needed.
• Mentor a high-performance facility team delivering excellent customer service.
• Maintain strong relationships with clubs, governing bodies, and community stakeholders.
