Placements24 is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources for the Port Elizabeth area. This senior role will shape and implement the HR strategy, overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, performance management, training, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will build a positive work environment, foster a strong culture, and attract top talent in the Eastern Cape. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered for strategic planning and remote team management.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Proven experience developing and implementing HR strategies.
• Strong knowledge of core HR functions including talent management, compensation, employee relations, and labor law.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with employees and management at all levels.
• Experience with HRIS systems and HR best practices.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus.
• Familiarity with Port Elizabeth labor market and HR landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with company goals and values.
• Oversee HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HRIS management.
• Lead development and implementation of talent acquisition and retention strategies.
• Manage compensation and benefits programs ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
• Oversee performance management processes including goal setting and reviews.
• Develop and deliver training and development programs for career growth.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
• Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture and manage employee relations.
• Advise senior management on HR matters and strategic workforce planning.
• Manage the HR department budget and resources.
