Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer specializing in manufacturing processes to join their Vereeniging facility. You will optimize production efficiency, improve quality, and reduce costs by implementing advanced mechanical engineering solutions on the shop floor.

The role requires a hands-on approach, strong manufacturing principles, and experience with automation. Candidates should have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on site.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Proven experience in process optimization, automation, and lean manufacturing principles.
Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with PLC control systems is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment in Vereeniging.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety.
Design, develop, and implement new mechanical systems and equipment to enhance production capabilities.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues with production machinery, providing timely and effective solutions.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and technical guides.
Collaborate with production staff and management to implement process changes and ensure successful adoption.
Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance schedules for critical manufacturing equipment.
