Placements24 is seeking a proactive Gym Operations Supervisor for a Centurion gym. You will oversee daily staff, core equipment maintenance, and membership processes, ensuring a clean, safe, and engaging facility for members.

The role requires leadership, strong customer service, and knowledge of gym management software. Flexible hours including evenings/weekends may be required to support facility operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of gym/facility management experience.
• Proven staff supervision and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of gym equipment maintenance and safety standards.
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in gym management software and Microsoft Office.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic fitness center located in Centurion, Gauteng , is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Gym Operations Supervisor to manage the day-to-day running of their facility. This role is crucial for ensuring a positive and safe fitness experience for all members. The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing gym staff, maintaining equipment, managing memberships, and ensuring the facility is clean and well-presented. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitness industry operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for health and wellness. You will play a key role in driving member satisfaction and retention, contributing to the overall success and growth of the fitness center. This position offers a hands‑on management experience in a fast-paced fitness environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of gym staff, including personal trainers and front desk personnel.
• Ensure all gym equipment is in excellent working condition, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor and manage membership sales and renewals, assisting potential members with sign‑up processes.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the gym facility.
• Assist members with inquiries, concerns, and fitness-related questions.
• Implement and enforce gym policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective workout environment.
• Conduct facility tours for prospective members and provide information on services and amenities.
• Manage inventory of supplies and order new stock as needed.
• Assist in developing and promoting fitness programs and events to increase member engagement.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in gym or fitness facility management.
• Proven experience in staff supervision and customer service.
• Knowledge of fitness equipment maintenance and safety standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Basic understanding of membership sales and retention strategies.
• Proficiency in gym management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required.
