Job summary

Mr D, a division of the Takealot Group, Cape Town, is seeking a Head of Customer Growth to drive customer growth for the on-demand delivery platform, leading Paid Media, CRM, and growth analytics to boost traffic and activation. You will own lifecycle from installs to habituation, partner with Brand, Product, and Commercial teams, and build data-driven campaigns that improve conversion and order growth.

The role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and offers a dynamic, high-growth environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• 7+ years of marketing or growth experience, with at least 3 years leading multi-functional teams in fast-paced, high-growth digital environments.
• Proven experience working in on-demand, ecommerce, or tech ecosystems (restaurant delivery, grocery, retail marketplaces/FMCG preferred).
• Exposure to subscription-based models or loyalty programs. Familiarity with app-based revenue strategies, including gamification, personalization, or partnerships (Advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Design and execute the growth roadmap focusing on acquisition, reactivation, and retention strategies.
• Develop a plan to drive non-habituated customers to transact and convert them into loyal, active users.
• Own the full customer activation lifecycle, from app installs to habituation, ensuring measurable outcomes.
• Establish KPIs to evaluate traffic, acquisition channels, habituation success, and order growth.
• Oversee and mentor high-performing teams: Paid Media, CRM, and growth analytics; foster data-driven experimentation.
