Job summary

Ekco is seeking an in-house legal professional to lead contract data modelling and AI-enabled workflows. The role focuses on building a single source of truth for customer contracts, processing activities and data mappings, with responsibility across Legal, Sales and Service Delivery.

You will bring an LLB or equivalent, 2–6 years of experience, and strong GDPR/POPIA knowledge, working across European hours. Experience with contract lifecycle management and privacy platforms is a plus.

Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent law degree required.
• Roughly 2–6 years of relevant experience in private practice, in-house, or compliance/privacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead with building Ekco’s contract data model and single source of truth for customer contracts.
• Design AI-enabled legal workflows and data mappings.
• Develop records of processing activities and data maps; support privacy/compliance.
• Provide contractual guidance across Legal, Sales and Service Delivery; ensure data sovereignty terms are clear.
• Support international expansion and cross-border collaboration with European hours.

Education

LLB or equivalent law degree

2–6 years of relevant experience

Hands-on commercial contracts experience

Technical confidence with data/spreadsheets

AI tools experience in the workplace

GDPR and POPIA knowledge

Explain contractual positions to non-lawyers
