Job summary

iStaff Recruitment (Pty) Ltd in South Africa seeks a skilled Customs Clearance Coordinator to manage end-to-end import and export shipments, ensuring timelines and NamRA compliance. You will draft declarations, handle shipping documents, and coordinate port procedures while liaising with carriers and authorities.

Experience with ASYCUDA is essential, along with knowledge of dry and reefer cargo, road freight, and handling critical inspections.

Qualifications

• IGCSE/Grade 12 with a Pass in English (Essential).
• Minimum 3 years’ Customs Clearance and ASYCUDA experience (Essential).
• Full knowledge of Import & Export Customs processes: Direct, In-Transit, Temporary, Warehouse.
• Experience with dry/reefer cargo and road freight – bulk and containerised.
• Experience with Shipping Instructions, Bills of Lading, Clearing Instructions, VGM, Port Health and Veterinary Services.

Responsibilities

• Deadline Management: oversee end-to-end shipments to meet timelines.
• Customs Compliance: draft and submit customs declarations per NamRA rules.
• Document Administration: manage Shipping Instructions, Bills of Lading, Clearing Instructions, VGM.
• Logistics Coordination: organise port procedures, cargo clearance, local transport and delivery.
• Stakeholder Liaison: primary contact for NamRA, Namport, carriers, and authorities.
• Client Communication: update clients on progress and documentation needs.
• Specialist Inspections: schedule health and veterinary inspections with Port Health.
• Financial Readiness: maintain shipment files and cost tracking for billing.
• Issue Resolution: flag issues and resolve or escalate promptly.
• Team Collaboration: provide shift handovers and operational support.
