Job summary

Experience with ASYCUDA is essential, along with knowledge of dry and reefer cargo, road freight, and handling critical inspections.

Qualifications

• IGCSE/Grade 12 with a Pass in English (Essential).
• Minimum 3 years’ Customs Clearance and ASYCUDA experience (Essential).
• Full knowledge of Import & Export Customs processes: Direct, In-Transit, Temporary, Warehouse.
• Experience with dry/reefer cargo and road freight – bulk and containerised.
• Experience with Shipping Instructions, Bills of Lading, Clearing Instructions, VGM, Port Health and Veterinary Services.

Responsibilities

• Financial Readiness: maintain shipment files and cost tracking for billing.
• Issue Resolution: flag issues and resolve or escalate promptly.
• Team Collaboration: provide shift handovers and operational support.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Deadline Management: Oversee end-to-end import and export shipments to guarantee all logistical, operational, and customs timelines are achieved.
• Customs Compliance: Draft and submit customs declarations and documentation in strict alignment with NamRA regulations and internal protocols.
• Document Administration: Handle critical shipping paperwork, including Shipping Instructions, Bills of Lading, Clearing Instructions, and VGM filings.
• Logistics Coordination: Organize port procedures, cargo clearance, local transport, freight collection, and final delivery logistics.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for NamRA, Namport, carriers, transport providers, and state agencies like Port Health.
• Client Communication: Keep customers updated on shipment progress, documentation needs, unexpected delays, and extra expenses.
• Specialist Inspections: Facilitate and schedule required health and veterinary inspections with Port Health and Veterinary Services.
• Financial Readiness: Keep shipment files, cost spreadsheets, and tracking updated so completed files can be billed immediately.
• Issue Resolution: Track pending tasks, flag potential disruptions or documentation errors, and resolve or escalate them promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Deliver structured shift handovers and operational support to maintain seamless team workflows

Requirements:

• IGCSE/Grade 12 with a Pass in English (Essential)
• Minimum 3-years’ Customs Clearance and ASYCUDA experience (Essential)
• Full working knowledge of Import & Export Customs processes, including Direct, In-Transit, Temporary and Warehouse
• Experience with dry and reefer cargo, as well as road freight – bulk and containerised
• Experience dealing with Shipping Lines, Port Authorities, Customs, Transporters, Depots and other relevant stakeholders
• Experience with Shipping Instructions, Bills of Lading, Clearing Instructions, VGM, Port Health and Veterinary Services requirement
