Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead geothermal energy projects in George, Western Cape. You will oversee the full lifecycle from exploration to commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; PMP/PRINCE2 preferred
• Master's degree is a plus
• 8+ years of project management experience in large-scale energy/infrastructure
• Experience in geothermal energy development is advantageous
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of SA environmental permits and safety standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of geothermal projects from exploration to handover
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, timelines, budgets and resources
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Coordinate with engineering teams, geologists, environmental consultants and contractors
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control procedures
• Manage stakeholder communications with investors, government agencies and communities
• Monitor progress and report status to senior management
• Lead contract negotiations and vendor relationships
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes
