Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Geothermal Energy Project Manager to oversee development and execution of geothermal power projects in the Western Cape. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure safety and quality standards across all project phases.

The role requires strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with 7+ years in energy project management and a background in EPC contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Geothermal) or related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of project management experience in energy/geothermal or similar complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing EPC contracts and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Geothermal Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of new geothermal power projects in the Western Cape region. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong leadership, and meticulous project planning to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will be a key player in expanding our geothermal portfolio, working closely with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies in Cape Town .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of geothermal energy projects, from feasibility studies and site selection to construction and commissioning.
• Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations.
• Oversee risk management, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all projects adhere to local and international environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Geothermal) or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the energy sector, specifically with geothermal or similar complex infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing EPC contracts and working with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of geothermal power plant technologies and exploration techniques.
