Placements24 is seeking a Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation for a mining enterprise near Paarl, Western Cape. This hybrid role combines on-site fieldwork with remote or office-based analysis and reporting, and focuses on geological modeling, data analysis, and resource estimation to support mine planning and value realization.

Required: BSc/Hons/MSc in Geology or Earth Sciences and 5+ years in geological modeling within mining.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in geological modeling and resource estimation within the mining industry.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and resource estimation software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Surpac).
• Solid understanding of geostatistics and resource classification principles.
• Experience with various deposit types relevant to the mining industry.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain 3D geological models based on drillhole data, assays, and geological logs.
• Perform geostatistical analysis and resource estimation using appropriate software tools.
• Classify mineral resources according to industry standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate resource models into production plans.
• Conduct geological mapping and field investigations to validate models and identify new targets.
• Interpret geological structures and their implications for resource potential and mineability.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations detailing resource estimates and geological interpretations.

About the Role

Our client, a respected mining enterprise with operations near Paarl, Western Cape , is seeking a talented Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation . This hybrid role allows for a dynamic work arrangement, combining essential on-site fieldwork with analytical and reporting duties performed remotely or from the office. You will be responsible for the geological modeling, data analysis, and resource estimation processes that underpin the mine's strategic planning and economic viability. This position requires a strong understanding of geological principles, structural geology, mineral deposit types, and advanced geostatistical techniques. The ideal candidate will be proficient in industry-standard geological modeling software and possess excellent analytical and interpretative skills.
