Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist specializing in resource estimation to join our client’s team based in Midrand. You will develop and validate geological models that underpin mine planning and decision-making.

You will collaborate with geoscientists and engineers, use Leapfrog, Micromine, and Snowden, and mentor junior staff while ensuring robust resource evaluations and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in mineral resource estimation.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog, Micromine and Snowden.
• Strong geostatistics and data interpretation.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain detailed geological models.
• Estimate resources and reserves per industry standards (JORC, NI 43-101).
• Conduct geological mapping, drill core logging, and sampling programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral resource estimation, preferably in base metals or precious metals.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and resource estimation software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Snowden).
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, geostatistics, and geological data interpretation.
• Excellent report writing skills and the ability to present complex geological information clearly.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to undertake occasional site visits to mine sites.
