Responsibilities

• Develop and manage geological models using Leapfrog, Vulcan, and Datamine.
• Perform geological mapping, structural analysis, and core logging for resource estimation.
• Collect, validate, and interpret assay results, density data and geophysics.
• Apply geostatistical methods to estimate resources and reserves per industry standards (JORC, NI 43-101).
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and summaries for stakeholders and regulators.
• Collaborate with mining engineers to optimize resource utilization and mine planning.
• Mentor junior geologists and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage geological models using specialized software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine).
• Perform detailed geological mapping, structural analysis, and core logging to inform resource estimation.
• Collect, validate, and interpret geological data, including assay results, density measurements, and geophysical surveys.
• Apply geostatistical methods to estimate mineral resources and reserves, adhering to industry standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and geological summaries for internal stakeholders and external regulators.
• Collaborate with mining engineers, metallurgists, and other technical specialists to optimize resource utilization and mine planning.
• Conduct geological reviews and due diligence assessments of exploration projects.
• Mentor and guide junior geologists and technicians, fostering professional development within the team.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in geological modeling and resource estimation.

Requirements

• B.Sc. (Hons) or M.Sc. in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration and resource estimation.
• Proven expertise in geological modeling and geostatistical analysis.
• Proficiency in industry-standard geological modeling software.
• Strong understanding of deposit types relevant to the company's operations.
• Experience with data validation and QA/QC protocols.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in team collaboration.
• Must be able to work on-site in Mossel Bay, Western Cape .
