Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Fundraising Specialist to join a prominent Pretoria-based charity remotely. You will identify funding sources, cultivate donor relationships, and design campaigns to support the organization’s mission across Gauteng and beyond.

You will write proposals, manage donor communications, analyze campaign performance, and coordinate virtual events, delivering measurable revenue growth while maintaining high ethical standards and donor stewardship.

You will play a key part in ensuring the financial sustainability of our client's vital work across Gauteng and beyond. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Develop and execute diverse fundraising strategies, including annual appeals, major gift campaigns, and online giving initiatives.
• Write compelling fundraising proposals and reports, tailoring them to specific donor interests.
• Organize and manage fundraising events (virtual and in-person as needed) to engage supporters.
• Maintain accurate donor records and manage donor communications to foster long-term engagement.
• Analyze fundraising data to track progress, identify trends, and optimize campaign performance.

Requirements

• Proven track record in fundraising or development, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a persuasive and engaging approach.
• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience with donor databases and fundraising software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote team environment.
• Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in South Africa and specifically the Pretoria region is a plus.
